Extra! Extra! 33

Extra! Extra!

Extra! Extra! is my weekly post featuring any and all exciting blog news.

This weekend I'm linking up to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

What Happened on the Blog This Past Week?

Monday I filled you on some great book Deals and Steals.

Tuesday was Hot Off the Presses -- with a giveaway!

Wednesday I told you about my unrequited longing for Splintered by A. G. Howard

Thursday I debuted my new "Books Like" feature with a list of books like the TV show Nashville.

Friday I ran down my favorite YA Historical Fiction and Paranormal reads of 2012. And yeah, I'm giving the winner's choice away.

Saturday I reviewed The Evolution of Mara Dyer.

My $50 Book Shopping Spree Giveaway is still accepting entries. Did you tweet today?

Coming Up Next Week:

Review of The Friday Society, a new Hot Off the Presses, the reveal of my favorite YA Dystopian, Post-Apocalyptic, and Fantasy of 2012 and more!

This Week's Winners:

Joli of Actin' Up With Books won the Freebie Friday Love Your Indie Bookstore Giveaway.

Jen of Some Like It Paranormal won the November 20 Hot Off the Presses Giveaway.

And a little laugh:

I set up a YA Romantics Facebook blog page. Hope you'll check it out -- I've got some great YA publisher contests posted. Anyway, yesterday I installed the Facebook app on my phone to take a look at my shiny new page. This is what last weekend's post on Small Business Saturday looked like on a mobile screen. Check out the lower thumbnail photo.

*facepalm*

Hope you have a great weekend -- let me know what's new with you or leave me a link and I'll visit you back.

  1. Very excited for your review of The Friday Society-I love the sound of female-centric and steampunk!

Thanks for the laugh re: your facebook page pic-at first I didn't look very close and so wasn't sure what was going on.

    1. All I saw on my phone screen was the giant word TURD. My kids thought it was beyond hilarious.

  3. Don't feel bad. Yesterday, I clicked on a facebook link on an author's page (someone well known) and the link took me to a random person...

  8. Ah, the screen cap! At work our system will shorten book titles, etc and a really great one I saw one time said something along the lines of "Anal... Invasion" which I think had something to do with Analysts. Either way, I took a picture of it with my old cell phone because I thought it was so funny. Oddly, no one else did. I also laugh because we carry Motorboating Magazine.

  9. Ha ha! That reminds me of a chrsitmas special of 'one foot in the grave' in the uk, where the bloke thinks someone has written 'victor meldrew's a turd' on a box, and it turns out that it actually says 'victor meldrew saturday delivery' :)
I was naughty with my tbr this weekend and read hysteria by megan miranda instead of what i supposed to be reading. Hope you're having a fab weekend!

    1. See, comedians in the UK have thought of this. It never occurred to me that Saturday had a turd in it. is that some kind of spelling trick, like the principal is your pal????

Nice to know that all the time we spend on getting our FB pages just right may not amount to a hill of beans in the end;)

    1. Exactly. All that worrying, and then you go and put a inadvertent turd out there in the world.

    2. "inadvertent turd"

"And that, right there, is why I love you Jen Ryland:)

  15. Turd. Oh Jen. Also... I bet you have a hard time distinguishing between real and spam comments this week because pretty much every comment says turd. LMAO.
