Blogging Resolutions for 2015
Happy New Year's Eve!
Weirdly, I usually make resolutions in the summer -- I guess the explanation is that I was a student forever and now have kids in school, so summer seems like a time to reflect and plan and fall is a time for new beginnings.
But my blog runs on a calendar year, so I thought, hey, why not make some resolutions. Just a few, so that I might have a prayer of achieving some of them. Here goes....
1) Spend a little more time on social media. For me, this resolution is about balance. I had a very busy year outside the blog, and I prioritized posting and returning comments, so in 2014 I wasn't on Twitter, etc. as much as usual. This was partly a bad thing, because I missed chatting with other bloggers, but I also realized it was a good thing, because Twitter can be a place where ARC envy starts and drama lurks. So my resolution is to pop in on a regular basis, but not hang out there all day long. I'm just happier that way.
2) Run more discussion posts. I meant to do this in 2014, and then just didn't get around to it as much as I hoped. I love discussion posts, so I am really going to try to make this happen!
3) Meet more bloggers. I feel like I "know" a bunch of bloggers, most online and some in real life, but I'm always so excited when I find a great new blog. So I'm going to make more of an effort to seek out new people to talk to.
4) Try to read more books that I like. This is always a tricky one too. I like to try new things, but at the same time, I really dislike reading a book that I'm not enjoying. Toward the end of 2014, I started being pickier about requests. Then I told myself that if I was wrong about a book -- meaning that I passed on reviewing it and then read amazing things about it -- I could always read it later.
Okay, that's probably enough. What are some of your reading/blogging resolutions for 2015?
